1. Choose a production from the syllabus that you feel interested in.
2. Visit the Library of Congress website.
3. Explore what kinds of archival materials they have available online.
4. Write up a report of your findings!

Adaptation

1. Choose a portion of a Shakespeare text, you can find the full texts on the Folger’s website.
2. In pairs try to “translate” the scene into contemporary language.
3. Perform the scene!

Director’s Pitch

1. Find a play that is not on the syllabus.
2. Prepare a presentation as if you were going to stage the play be sure to consider things like set design, costuming, style, etc.
3. Present to the class!
